So how do you actually do that?

P.S. The best thing that you can do for your career is start building it today, while you have job, not just when you are in search.

Rule 1: Optimize Your Profile

Your profile is your digital handshake. Make sure it’s saying the right things.

Headline: Use keywords that reflect your expertise. Example:
Healthcare Project Manager | Empowering Teams & Driving Results

About Section: Tell your story - your passions, skills, and achievements. Make it personal yet professional.

Photo + Banner: Use a clean, friendly profile photo and a banner that reflects your brand or niche.

Rule 2: Personalize Your Connection Requests

Skip the boring "I'd like to connect" message. Instead, show why you care.

Try this:
Hi [Name], I loved your recent post on [topic]. As someone also working in [field/interest], I’d love to connect and exchange insights.

Rule 3: Engage Authentically

Like, comment, share—and actually say something meaningful.

Engage with thought leaders, peers, and companies you admire. And please, avoid “Great post!” unless you add why it’s great.

Rule 4: Join LinkedIn Events & Lives

LinkedIn events are networking gold.

Show up, interact in the chat, and follow up afterward.

Rule 5: Follow Up

After connecting, start a conversation. It doesn’t have to be long—just thoughtful.
